Ready to Enroll? A Step-by-Step Guide to Joining Cultivate’s Summer Art Camp

Joining Cultivate’s Summer Art Camp in Grand Rapids, Michigan, promises a summer filled with creative exploration, skill development, and artistic growth.

To ensure a smooth enrollment and an enriching camp experience, follow this detailed guide designed for aspiring artists of all ages.

Step 1: Explore Our Camp Offerings

Begin by exploring our diverse range of summer courses suitable for various age groups, including young children, teens, and adults. Our offerings span from June through August and feature unique classes like “Shadow Theater: Puppetry and Performance” and “Modern Collage.” Each course is thoughtfully crafted to spark creativity and deepen participants' connection to art. Review our full descriptions and schedule on the Cultivate website to plan your summer accordingly.

Step 2: Registration Details

Registration for our summer camp opened on February 7th and continues on a rolling basis until classes are filled. This flexible registration process allows you to secure your spot in our highly sought-after courses.

Step 3: Payment Plans

Recognizing the financial commitment to art education, Cultivate offers payment installment plans. These plans are designed to make our camp more accessible, allowing you to pursue your passion for art worry-free. Details about these plans are provided during the registration process, facilitating payments for multiple courses. We find that many parents/guardians will register for multiple sessions throughout the summer, and their final payment is due a few days before the session begins, therefore enabling them to sign up for many more courses!

Step 4: Completing Your Registration Through Jumbula

Our registration is conducted via Jumbula, a platform that helps us gather essential information about our students. This includes safety precautions, learning styles, and personal interests, enabling our certified art teachers and teaching artists to tailor their support and instruction. Inspired by Montessori principles, we are committed to supporting each student's holistic development, accommodating various learning styles, providing neurodivergent support, and catering to individual interests.

Step 5: Preparing for an Inspiring Summer

Upon completing your registration, you will receive a confirmation email with all the necessary information for your art course(s). We encourage you to familiarize yourself with this information, mark your calendar with your course dates, directions and parking guidance, and accessibility support information. Being proactive ensures you’re fully prepared to dive into the creative experience.

Step 6: Starting the Class

On the first day of your art course, we encourage students to be dropped off 15 minutes before class to comfortably settle in. Cultivate provides healthy snacks for all classes, though students are welcome to bring their own snacks and/or water bottle if they prefer. This early arrival and preparation allow for a smooth transition into class activities, ensuring students are ready to engage fully with the day’s creative explorations.

By following these steps, you’re well on your way to joining Cultivate’s Summer Art Camp—a vibrant community where creativity is nurtured, and artists of all ages are encouraged to grow and explore. We’re looking forward to welcoming you to our community and embarking on a summer of artistic discovery and fun together!
