Course Description: This course offers a fundamental exploration of drawing tailored for beginners. Engage with key drawing techniques, including creating lines, shaping forms, basic shading, and introductory perspective. Designed to enhance creative expression and build confidence, this class guides young artists in transforming their thoughts and observations into artistic expressions on paper. Session Structure: Fundamentals of Line and Shape: Learn to utilize lines and shapes to build the framework for objects and simple scenes. Introduction to Shading: Understand the essentials of shading to bring depth and dimensionality to your drawings. Simple Perspective Drawing: Develop a basic understanding of perspective to add realism to your sketches. Creative Expression: Each class session promotes personal artistic style and exploration through various drawing projects. Educational Objectives: Skill Development: Improve fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination with focused drawing exercises. Mastering Artistic Techniques: Gain knowledge of essential drawing techniques to more accurately represent the world around you. Materials Provided: All necessary materials are included—pencils, erasers, drawing paper, and colored pencils. Participants should bring their enthusiasm and creativity to each class, prepared to learn in a supportive and engaging environment.

Cancellation Policy

A 100% tuition refund will be issued one week prior to the session start date. No refunds will be issued after this date. Refunds will not be issued if a course delivery format changes from in-person to online due to health guidelines. All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to hello@cultivategrandrapids.org and include the student’s name and course information. Refunds take four to six weeks to process. Note: Nonattendance does not constitute an official withdrawal, nor a cancellation of tuition and fees.
